Dates and news.

We have recently received £5,000 from the London Cycling Campaign to run a "build-a-bike" project. This is a very exciting project and participants will receive training in how to build a bike which they can then take away for free along with bike locks and helmet. They will also receive cycle training from Westminster Council and there are further (limited) opportunities to go on and train as a mechanic and a cycle trainer. Barnaby from our partner organisation Bikeworks gave a presentation about the project yesterday and we have found 12 eager participants! So keep an eye out for more news and pics!

Maggie Grant, our volunteer Advisor on training and employment will start giving face-to-face advice to clients on Thursday 3rd June. This is particularly relevant to clients who have recently been granted Illimited Leave to Remain and is a good opportunity for them in their first step to finding a job in the UK.

Also on Thursday 3rd June, we will be holding an art workshop for children and adults on the theme "Recycling". We ask participants to bring recycled materials like old magazines and newspapers etc..

Nous venons de recevoir une bourse de £5,000 de London Cycling Campaign pour mettre en place un projet pour construire son vélo. Les participants recevront une formation pour apprendre à assembler un vélo, qui sera le leur une fois la formation terminée, ainsi qu'un anti-vol et un casque. Westminster Council fournira aussi une formation pour apprendre à faire du vélo dans Londres et il y aura des opportunités (limitées) pour continuer dans cette voie et se former en tant que mécanicien ou professeur de vélo. Barnaby de notre partenaire Bikeworks était à NDRC hier pour présenter ce projet à nos clients et nous avons trouvé 12 participants enthousiastes! Maggie Grant, notre conseillère bénévole en training et recherche d'emploi commencera à faire des consultations individuelles jeudi 3 juin. Ceci sera particulièrement adapté à ceux de nos clients qui ont récemment recu Illimited Leave to Remain et sera une bonne opportunité pour eux dans leur recherche d'emploi en UK.

Aussi le jeudi 3 juin , nous organisons un atelier artistique pour les enfants et les adultes sur le thème du "Recyclage". Nous demandons aux participants d'amener des matériaux recyclables comme des vieux magazines ou journaux etc..
