Launch of the Migration Observatory and a photo by Monica

At the launch of the Migration Observatory at Millbank last night. Immigration minister Damian Green and Baroness Oona King spoke about the need for an evidence-based debate on migration. The Migration Observatory draws on research from a host of academics based at and linked to Oxford University - no doubt a good thing. But did wonder how this might link to those of us at the coal face (as it were). 

Then - on the way home in the tube - saw something wonderful! A photo by our own Monica Alcazar in two of the (very) glossy brochures handed out at the launch. Well done, Monica - hats off!  It's a great picture. "Latin American Elderly Project Dance Class', short-listed for the 2010 Compas photo exhibition.
