Coming up in March! A venir en mars!

Some of our clients are happily now being awarded permanent status by the UKBA under the ‘legacy’ programme. Whilst this vastly improves their rights and entitlements in the long term, there is an initial transition period when there are many changes to get used to. Brian Mitchell, NRDC Advisor will give a training/information session on this transition period to clients (and anyone else who is interested) on Thursday 18^th March at 2pm.

We hope that a new volunteer will start to give regular employment advice sessions to clients. This will be particularly useful to those who recently got their papers.

We hope to resume the gardening project with Forest Farm Peace Garden.

We are planning to provide cooking classes to explain how to cook a simple meal.

For volunteers: Tribal Education Limited have offered to provide training on ‘customer care’ which involves communication skills, building rapport and offering the best possible service. They will provide this at the NDRC on Tuesday 16^th March, 11-2pm provided there is enough interest from volunteers to attend. Tribal also offer help with job search if required.

Quelques uns de nos clients se sont récemment vus attribuer un statut permanent par UKBA sous le programme ‘legacy’. Alors que ceci améliore énormément leurs droits à long terme, il y a une période de transition initiale avec beaucoup de changements auxquels ils doivent faire face. Brian Mitchell, Conseiller à NRDC dirigera une séance d’information à propos de cette période transitoire pour nos clients (et toute autre personne intéressée) jeudi 18 mars à 14h.

Nous espérons pouvoir offrir à nos clients des sessions régulières de conseil à l’emploi. Cela devrait être surtout utile à ceux qui ont récemment eu leurs papiers.

Nous espérons reprendre notre projet jardinage avec Forest Farm Peace Garden.

Nous pensons mettre en place des cours de cuisine pour montrer comment préparer des plats simples.

Pour les bénévoles: Tribal Education Limited ont proposé de faire un training en ‘customer care’ qui couvrirait la communication, établir des relations et offrir le meilleur service possible. Cela se tiendra mardi 16 mars de 11 à 14h , si il y a suffisamment de personnes intéressées. Tribal offre aussi de l’aide à la recherche d’emploi si nécessaire.
